Meet Our Dedicated Staff

Pastor Joel Buckwalter received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State, and his Master of Divinity from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena California. He has been the pastor of Covanent since 2002 and our new Pastor at Calvary starting March 2019. He is married to Cathy with two children Lauren and Danny. Currently he is Treasurer of the Tri-Boro Clergy Association and on the West Jersey Presbytery Council. He has served churches in Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Ordained in the PC(USA) in 1997, he was born and raised near Coatesville PA.

Nedra Cawley is our Administrative Assistant and Financial Secretary. She has lived in Riverton since 1984, and has worked at Calvary since 2011. Prior to coming to Calvary, she spent time in various industries, including insurance, personnel, warranty administration, and real estate sales, and she tells us that working at Calvary is the most rewarding. Nedra is married to Steve, lives within walking distance of her married daughter, loves gardening, playing games, her four cats, and of course, companion parrot, Moses.

Sarah Wood, Sunday School Teacher: I grew up in Riverton and have been a lifelong member of the Calvary family. I now live in Delran with my husband (Mike), son (Lincoln), and dog (Riley). Outside of church I am a teacher and am starting my 12th year as a teacher at Cherokee High School.

We do many fun activities in Sunday School, including a Christmas pageant, signing songs, playing the hand bells, many hands-on activities, and of course having snacks!
